Lacroix’s intelligent intersection solution eases the movements of all road users, while preserving their security, by combining computer vision, AI and a range of cloud and local integrations.
Using 3 cameras installed on existing traffic light poles, the Lacroix Traffic Light Controller, combined with embedded Smart Perception engine, adjusts the traffic signal in real-timetime based on the presence of vehicle types and dynamic rule sets.
Detection of pedestrians allows automatic call for crossing, while green time is adjusted according to the behaviour of the pedestrian. This has the potential to reduce accidents, improve the feeling of safety for vulnerable road users.
The roust and accurate data collected from the edge processors are sent to the cloud where they can be displayed in LaCroix’s dashboard allowing for insights such as, modal split, average speeds, infractions, and general traffic information that can inform planning decisions.
Finally, the Lacroix V2X-Roadside Unit and in-vehicle Onboard Unit enable specific priority management for selected vehicles such as taxis, busses, emergency vehicles or autonomous vehicles.
