Andel Lumen’s Citylinx management platform is a solution that addresses interoperability in the lighting domain. This is an important consideration for cities, mangers and operators that have to work with a large number of devices from a variety of vendors.
By exploiting standards, such as TALQ, Citylinx integrates measurement and operational data from smart and connected lighting points and presents them in a familiar, easy-to-navigate dashboard. The system allows vendor-agnostic control of lighting points, individually, in groups, or city-wide. This represents an attractive alternative to having to maintain a suite of management systems, each with their own interfaces, commands and architecture.
This is interoperability at its finest and demonstrates how standards such as TALQ can be used in order to avoid vendor lock-in when investing in IoT and smart city technology.
